About Project
Finns love small and big rapids thinking that they are our inner landscape. This is a story of Puhinkoski mill and rapids that are a part of Lake Saimaa headwaters in Halmeniemi, Mäntyharju, in Lakeland Finland. The narrator Mr Eino Saloranta lived his childhood at the mill farm that provided his family with electricity and livelihood. Now the place has been abandoned for 50 years but it still draws nature lovers and nature photographers. This is a tribute to small nature treasures, lovely storytellers and sustainable living.
